Howe's current works is a collection of contemporary landscapes inspired by extended stays of both Vancouver Island and Seattle. For Tim there are no boundaries between Impressionism and Abstraction. The result is a varied body of work that skillfully blends nature between the two seemingly opposing viewpoints. "I come from a strong graphic design background, and I tend to draw upon this experience in creating my paintings. I accomplish this by utilizing the disciplines of both impressionism and abstraction, while managing to merge these two aesthetic principles."
By incorporating dramatic use of colour and texturing, Howe captures his subject matter with a unique, contemporary flair. his landscapes seem to exist outside the flame...they literally stretch beyond the canvas. With vivid accents and lively vigorous brushstrokes, Howe continues his search for new images of familiar subjects.
